Roma - Do as the Romans do -

- 15-19 Mar. 2006-

Im now in Roma.

I stay at Youth Hostel in Roma.
My room has 6 beds,
4-Japanse,
1-Brazilian,
1-Australian,
The Australian guy likes Japan so much.
He stayed at a Youth Hostel in Shin-Osaka before he came here.
He has tatoo of Kanji (Kanashii to Samurai) on his arms.

-16th-
I visited the city of Vatican.
It was raining, so I feel so cold.

The 2 foreigners started to drink in the evening and invited me.
Then we startted to drink at the restraunt in the Youth hostel.
(As you know, I cant drink...)
They drank so quickly and finished 2 bottles of wine in a few tens minutes.
The drunk guys got interested in 2 Japanese grils having their meal in the restraunt
,and tried to make me to invite the girls...

to be coutnued

-17th-
Im in a internet cafe now.

Napoli -Southbound-
- 12-14 Mar. 2006-

I visited Napoli (Naples).

Generally speaking, I dont like Napoli,
because its so dirty, (more dirty than Roma)
even if the central station and the square of the station is so dirty.
I found a lot of shops closed and old women and children who want to get money from travelers.
The economy of this city seems to be bad.
I think its main sector of economy is sightseeing (?).

But the sea is very beautiful.
I went to the marina when I got bored of the dirty city.
The vesvio can be seen everywhere in the city.
The top of the mountain is covered with snow and beautuful now...

I met a Korean archtect in my youth hostel.(to be continued to tomorrow)

-13th-
I visited Pompei.
It was a so huge ruin.
We can see buildings and facilities as the ancient people were alive in the ash.
I met the Korean archtect in Pompei again,
he was drawing some pictures of the ruin.
After we visited the ruin we went to the hostel by his rent-car.
We talked about our journey in the car,
he said, he travels around the Europe to drow buildings.
He was more silent than me.

-14th-
I visited Capri.
I saw a lot of travelers in the island.
Almost all of them are groups of old women and men.

Firenze
-12 Mar. 2006-

I move from Firenze to Napoli today.

Firenze seems to be very famous city for sightseeing for American people (and for European people, of course),
because I hear English (not Queens English perhapls) everywhere in the city.
Now I'm writing this diary in a internet cafe, and both sides of me speak English. They are making their reservations of hotel where they will visit next.
Am I realy in Italy?

Streets and buildings are kept as they were built, this city looks like Kyoto.

According to Nikei.net, Nikkei 225 rose by the effect of BOJ's operation.

La Scala Theatre
-10 Mar. 2006-

My friends and I went to the theatre of Scala to see a Opera.

The theatre has 9 floors (grond floor, 1st, 2nd, ..., 8th)
Our seats were located at 8th floor (higher -> more cheap) it costed 20 euros.

I did not understand the story well, but maybe some kind of love and sad story. The HIROIN dies at the end of the story.

This story seemed to be a fusion of modern and classical style of the Opera, because the surface of the stage is coverd with water. I dont know about the Opera in detal, but such a strange effect should not be done in classical style.

The depth of water seemed to be about 5-10 cm. Maybe they can do this effect, because the theatre of Scala was renewed 2 years ago. all of the seats has LCD display to show the manuscript !!

It's classical but high-tech theatre.

over the Alps
-09 Mar. 2006-

I moved from Zurich to Milan.

I took about 4.5 hours to go through the Alps.

Our train run beside lakes and mountaions of the Alps.

Mountains look like wall of snow, and the top of thmem are in mist and cloud.

Generally speaking, trains in Switzerland always have fantastic view.

It's difficult for me to explain the beauty of this train trip.
You can understand how beautiful they are, when you look at my photos (I'll upload them to my website after this journey.)

Zurich-02

-Monday-

I took a walk around the center station of Zurich.

Zurich is not a so big city, we can see almost all of the things if we walk aroud the center statin and main street.

The main street looks like GINTZA 4-chome Street and OTEMACHI.
There are a lot of famous shops such as BULGARI, OMEGA, Cartier etc. I can only do window-shopping.
And I found headquarters or big branches of banks such as UBS and Credit Suisse (KUREDI-SUISU).

They are placed in old buildings (they seem to have some histrical stories), i can feel the long history of banks of Switzerland.

Geneve-Zurich
-05 Mar. 2006-

I'm in Zurich.

Since I arraived at Geneve by TGV,
I have a little fever, I seem to have a cold.

Geneve has nothing except for the headquarter of Uinited Nations and the lake, but street is more clean than in Paris.

Unexpctedly, I met a frined of mine of part time job(goforer of TV-station), at the hostel in Geneve, and I get medicine for cold from them. They are so kind. They appreciated our banking system (they use international cash card service of our bank.)

It was snowing more and more heavily, as I was approaching to Zurich by train.

Now Zurich is coverd with heavy snow. I wont able to go out tomorrow?

In Geneve, most of the people speak French, and English,
here (It seems to be )German and English.
I'm a little bit worrying about my English after I start to work.

Heta na eigo de moushiwake nai to Omotte imasu.

Paris
旅行中にmixi に書いていた日記を転記します.

-01 Mar. 2006-

I'm in Paris.

I stay here for 4 days.
I visit Musee de Louvre, Musee de Marmotton(?)
Musee d'Orsay.

I saw a lot of arts of Impressionism( ? insho-ha) in Musee d'Orsay and Marmotton etc etc.

People speaks Englosh more than I have thought of, so I have little problem about communication.

I will leave for Geneve in Switzerland by TGV tomorrow.
